Jeseník is the first hydrotherapy center in the world. The local mikroklima is suitable for spa treatment of diseases of air passages, heart diseases and circulatory disorders, neurosis, exhaustion states and mobility disorders. Spa Jeseník with favourable climatic conditions for spa treatment is situated on the sylvan slope of Rychlebské Mountains, 620 m above sea level, in the farthest north-eastern spur of Silesia and Moravia. Thanks to its position, Priessnitzovy lázne is a dominant of the valley in which the town of Jesenik, 2 km far from the spa center, is situated. Due to protected geographical location, the spa has extremely favourable, mild and moist climatic conditions that enable effective curative or holiday stays every season of the year, also thanks to exceptionally clean and negatively ionized air. Jeseník Spa came into existence and was renowned later on thanks to one man-Vincent Priessnitz- the founder of hydrotherapy which established in Gräfenberg the first hydrotherapy center in the world in the year 1822. About 80 registered and named springs flow out of the ground near the spa. The spa treatment programmes in Jeseník: bubble, iodine, sulphurous, herbal, whirpool and carbonated baths, dry gas baths, Schotch hose, hardening in outdoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy according to Priessnitz, underwater massage, swimming, paraffin wraps, classic massage, reflex, segment and vibration massage, physical training, field treatment with gradual physical load, individual and enclosed space inhalations, oxygen therapy of several stages, electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, sonography, sunray lamp, cryoutherapy, sauna, solarium, gas injections, acupuncture. Apart from this, there is a wide range of up-to-date and computer controlled diagnostic choices of the procedures offered. Tha spa house *** was completely redeveloped in the year 2001, and is situated in the middle of the spa health center and offers accommodation with the capacity of 89 beds in 23 single rooms and 33 double bedrooms. The rooms are equipped with the shower, toilette, TV-SAT, telephone and minibar. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms. Majority of the rooms have a balcony with the unique view of the mountain panorama of Hrubý Jeseník. The building has a barrier free entrance and two rooms that are adapted for handicapped guests. The guests have at their disposal assembly room, dining room,ambulance, treatment room and inhalation rooms. All other procedures are provided in the Balneotherapy building. The price of accomodation includes accomodation with breakfast. The price of a relaxation stay includes accomodation, halfboard, initial and leaving medical examination, 2 procedurs daily, use of sauna and fitness. The price of a curative stay includes accomodation, halfboard, initial and leaving medical examination, curative 18 procedures weekly.
